Inclusive Football at the King Power Stadium 9th May 2016

Inclusive Futures: Leicester

Inclusive Football event at the King Power Stadium 9th May 2016.

Thanks to our close links with Leicestershire & Rutland County Football Association, we were able to offer three of our Inclusive Futures volunteers the opportunity to support an inclusive football event hosted at the home of the Premier League champions Leicester City, the King Power stadium.

Adil, Alexa & Rosie joined the Ellesmere Community team in the glorious sunshine, along with over 400 footballers from across Leicestershire. Inclusive schools and clubs were well represented along with walking football and all had an excellent day in the sunshine. We were even joined by former England and Leicester City FC footballer Emile Heskey and snooker World Champion Mark Selby. Rumour has it Jamie Vardy was even around but the only sighting we got was of his beautiful Bentley parked out front.

Our leaders supported the assistant referees from Ashfield school and had a thoroughly enjoyable day supporting this inclusive event.

Many thanks to Philippa Bass from LRCFA for the opportunity and to LCFC for allowing us to use their facilities!
